(Return to Sample Analysis page)

Companies in the report are ranked by year over a four year period making it easy to identify which companies are performing well or not so well. The trend in the particular financial measure is also clear from the rankings. All the reported results are brought together so that for example the largest companies in the industry in 2005 are displayed and the growth over the period. The following rankings are included:

Sales Return On Capital Employed Fixed Asset Turnover
Gross Profit Return On Investment Debtor Turnover
Operating Profit Current Ratio Value Added
Pre-tax Profit Quick Ratio Sales Per Employee
Shareholders Funds Debt Ratio Average Wage
Number Of Employees Times Interest Earned Growth in Sales
Gross Margin Stock Turnover Growth In Operating Margin
Operating Margin Credit Given Growth In Pre-tax Margin
Pre-tax Margin Credit Taken Growth In Employees

The rankings make it easy to identify companies which meet particular criteria for example to find a shortlist of potential take-over targets by turnover you would simply turn to the listing of companies ranked by sales. Scanning the listing will allow a criteria such as above £1M turnover but below £20M. This is a very easy way to derive lists of firms of potential interest. The full financial details and analysis of the firms of interest are listed in the company report section with one company per page.
